Homelessness has risen by 43% this year in London and with winter setting in, there is a new initiative to re-house homeless people in the borough of Hackney.
Levitt Bernstein, an urban designer, has won a competition with their design to help the homeless.
Using disused garages around the borough they will convert these empty spaces into living spaces with a bed and bathroom and every 5th garage will hold a communal kitchen and washing space.
