Buskers and London Underground – you can’t have one without the other.  But not just anyone is allowed to entertain the four million people who use the tube everyday.  This week TFL opened applications for a new set of licenses for those who wish to play.  There are 150 up for grabs, and the judging panel is made up of discerning music industry professionals.

Applications close on the 1st February, with successful applicants being invited to audition in the spring.

Gareth Powell from tfl says that: “ Buskers at stations really help to brighten our customers’ journeys. Busking is a fantastic way of reaching a very large and diverse audience.”
