Emile Sande picks up Two Brit Awards – Last night the 25-year old singer Emeli Sande was awarded the solo artist title and the British album of the year award.
In doing this she beat artists such as Mumford & Sons and Paloma Faith.
Held at the London’s 02 Arena, other winners included boy-band One Direction for their international sales and Mumford & Sons for Best British Group.
James Bond returns to the pages – The estate of Ian Fleming has announced that there will be a new James Bond novel released in September.
The latest adventures of the famous British spy will be written by William Boyd, following on from the hugely successful 13 novels written by Ian Fleming.
The Fleming estate also revealed that the spy will be 45-years old, and it will be set in 1969.
Jimmy Savile documentary scoop an award – The scandalous ITV expose into the deceased radio 1 DJ Jimmy Savile has been named “scoop of the year” at the Royal Television Society’s Journalism Award.
The documentary was the catalyst in the un-ravelling of wide-spread industry allegations of child sexual abuse, and was produced in “heated” conditions.
Other award recipients included Channel 4’s Jon Snow as presenter of the year, as well as Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen for special journalist of the year.
